Keying - Modules and connectors, except those required for
3.3.7.7
BNC connectors, shall be keyed to prevent the insertion of a connector or
module into an improper location within or on the. equipment.
Part Replacement - Part replacement on the modules shall be

possible by skilled technicians working in a designated service area such
as an intermediate maintenance activity. Use of potting compounds, exces-
sive moisture/fungus proofing compounds, or any other substance to mechani-
cally support piece parts is forbidden.
Use of potting compounds for moisture/fungus proofing purposes
is allowed, provided the following minimum requirements are met:
(1) A 30-mil thickness is not exceeded.
(2) Reference designators and/or part identifications remain
clearly legible.
(3) Excessive use of hard curing compounds (such as some
epoxies) to hold parts in place is prohibited.
(4) Part replacement is not significantly impeded.
Non-Repairable Assemblies - All designs for non-repairable
3.3.7.9
assemblies shall have procuring activity approval, prior to release for
fabrication.
3.3.7.10 Adjustments - Procuring activity approval is required for
design and use of all periodic adjustment, alignment, or calibration func-
tions except for those specified herein.  There shall be no adjustments at
organizational level except for operator controls as specified herein.

3.3.7.11 Access Panels - Access panels shall be retained by captive
fasteners,
3.3.7.12 Service Access - Devices requiring removal periodically, for
inspection and/or servicing, shall be retained by quick-disconnect fasteners;
i.e., hand-operated, Dzus type, etc.
3.3.7.13 Mounting Devices - Connectors, receptacles, circuit breakers
or any other electronic parts, shall not be a part of any mounting device
associated with the equipment.
3.3.7.14 Handles - A handle or handles shall be provided if required
to afford one man optimum handling.  Handle location shall be appropriate
for ease of handling, installation, and removal.
Nomenclature and Nameplates - Nomenclature and serial number
3.3.8
assignment, nameplate approval and identification marking shall be in accor-
dance with Specification MIL-N-18307.
