Controls - The Controller shall provide the following
3.5.11.5
controls:
INS Mode Switch - A six-position three deck rotary
3.5.11.5.1
switch shall control the state of output discretes to the system for
mode control.  It shall be necessary to lift the switch in order to
continue rotation when moving between the following positions:
OFF &
CMPTR or (CMPTR &
OFF)
CMPTR
& ALIGN or (ALIGN
& CMPTR)
NAV &
SLAVE or (SLAVE &
NAV)
SLAVE
& ATTD or (ATTD &
SLAVE)
OFF - In this position of the mode switch, the ON
3.5.11.5.1.1
discrete to the Battery Unit shall be open.
3.5.11.5.1.2 CMPTR - This position of the mode switch shall
provide continuity of the CMPTR discrete to the Battery Unit.
ALIGN - This position of the mode switch shall
3.5.11.5.1.3
provide continuity of the Align discrete to the Battery Unit and shall
provide the Align code to the NC.
NAV (Navigate) - This position of the mode switch
3.5.11.5.1.4
shall provide continuity of the Navigate discrete to the Battery Unit
and shall provide the Navigate code to the NC.
SLAVE - This position of the mode switch shall
3.5.11.5.1.5
provide continuity of the Slave discrete to the Battery Unit and shall
provide the Slave code to the NC.
ATTD (Attitude) - This position of the mode switch
3.5.11.5.1.6
shall provide continuity of the Attitude discrete to the Battery Unit.
LAMP TEST Switch - A pushbutton switch shall be
3.5.11.5.2
provided for the push to test function. Depressing the switch shall
cause all the annunciators on the panel to illuminate while the switch
is held down.
DAY NIGHT Switch - A two-position toggle switch
3.5.11.5.3
shall be provided to control annunciator lighting intensity. In the DAY
position, the switch shall cause full 5V lighting power to be available
for lighting the annunciators. In the NIGHT position, the switch shall
select a lower voltage to be available for lighting the annunciators, to
be determined by the transformer tap utilized.
Displays - The Controller shall provide six annun-
3.5.11.6
ciators of mode and status. Lamp supply shall be developed from aircraft
26 V, 400 Hz, routed through the DAY NIGHT control function. The mode
annunciator legends shall be green when illuminated.  The IMS FAIL
annunciator legend shall be amber when illuminated.  The legends shall
not be legible in bright sunlight when not illuminated.
