Ordering Data: Procurement documents should specify the following:

(a) Title, Number, and Date of this specification.
(b) Colors required (see paragraph 3.14.3)
(c) Applicable level of preparation for delivery (See Section 5).
Preproduction Tests: One vacuum pump will be required as a pre-

production sample to be subjected to the preproduction tests to determine
compliance with the requirements of this specification.
6.3
Definition
Ambient Conditions: Ambient conditions shall be understood to mean

the dry-bulb temperature and the barometric pressure of the air approaching
the pump inlet connection.
Requirements For Descriptive Literature: Descriptive literature
6.4
as specified below must be furnished as a part of the bid and must be re-
ceived before the time set for opening bids. The literature furnished must
be identified to show the item in the bid to which it pertains. The de-
scriptive literature is required to establish for the purpose of bid evalu-
ation and award, details of the products the bidder proposes to furnish as
specified below:
(1) Dimensioned outline drawing of the vacuum pump assembly
showing side view, rear view, and top view. This drawing shall also show all
access doors, lifting and tie-down provisions, and electrical connections.
(2) A phantom side, end and top view of the vacuum pump showing the
location of all major components, controls and piping.
(3) A drawing of the pump inlet piping showing the oil check
device, the blank-off valve, the gaging provisions, and the filters.
(4) A bill of material, typewritten on bond paper giving the fol-
lowing information:
(a) Vacuum pump manufacturer, model number, manufacturer's rat-
ing in c.f.m.
(b) The oil check device manufacturer's name, model number, and
port size.
(c) The blank-off valve manufacturer's name, model number, and
port size.
(d) The thermocouple gage, manufacturer's name, model number
and scale range.
(e) The manufacturer's name, model number, and rating for each
