4.4.3 Testing. Testing is described in the First Article and
Quality Conformance Inspection Tables.
4.4.3.1 Non-hazardous projectile firings. Six (6) projectiles
per lot shall be fired for lot acceptance testing. The rounds shall
be conditioned and fired as follows:
4.4.3.2 Projectile mine distribution. Each projectile mine
cargo shall be divided so that one-third (1/3) of the recoverable
mines are tested for anti-disturbance, one-third (1/3) of the
recoverable mines are tested for breakwire, and one-third (1/3) of
the recoverable mines are tested for self-destruct, Samples shall
be preselected, numbered and color coded in accordance with 4.5.15.4.
4.4.3.3 Missing mines and accidental functioning. Any mine
which has not been located by eighty ( 80%) percent of the maximum
self-destruct time for the type of munition under test shall be
classed as missing. Any mine which is functioned accidently by any
means shall be classed as an accidental functioning. Both missing
mines and accidental functioning shall be a no-test for all test
requirements, except hazardous duds.
4.4.3.4 Self-destruct functioning. Mines selected for
self-destruct functioning shall be tested for the specified criteria
in accordance with 4.5.15.3. Scoring for self-destruct functioning
shall be per 4.5.18. The lot shall be rejected if more than 7.2% of
those recoverable units in the self-destruct sample set are classed
as failure to function self-destruct.
4.4.3.5 Anti-disturbance functioning. Mines selected for
anti-disturbance testing shall be tested for the specified criteria
in accordance with 4.5.15.1. Scoring for antidisturbance
functioning shall be per 4.5.18. The lot shall be rejected if more
than eleven percent 11.0% of those units tested for anti-disturbance
functioning are classed defective. Safe duds shall be excluded from
the anti-disturbance sample set.
