MIL-P-48189D(AR)
4.4.4.1  Sensor wire continuity.  As an alternate to inspecting
a sample of the parts, the contractor may perform an inspection to
verify the effectiveness of a 100% production screen for continuity
of the sensor circuits.  The inspection must verify that the test
equipment and production operator are making the correct decision
during the 100% screening operation.  The plan for this verification
must be documented and forwarded to the Technical Agency for
approval (see 6.4).
4.4.5  Inspection equipment.  The inspection equipment required
to perform the examinations and tests prescribed herein is described
in the tables beginning with 4.4.2.1.  The contractor shall submit
for approval inspection equipment designs in accordance with the
terms of the contract.  See Section 6 of MIL-A-48078.
4.5 Methods of inspection.
4.5.1  Arming of S&A assembly.  The S&A assembly, with a barrier
restriction pin in place, shall be mounted in the arming nest of the
arming fixture and the arming conditions specified shall be
applied.  observation for arming shall be made as evidenced by both
Barrier Assemblies being in the out-of-line position.  Each unit so
tested must be recocked by placing the assembly in the recock nest
of the arming fixture and subjecting the assembly to the specified
recocking conditions.  Each unit failing to arm shall be removed
from the lot.
4.5.2 Non-arming of S&A assembly.  The S&A assembly, shall be
mounted in the arming nest of fixture and subjected to the
non-arming conditions as specified.  observation for non-arming
shall be made as evidenced by both Barrier Assemblies being in the
fully unarmed position.  Each unit failing this test shall be
removed from the lot.
4.5.3  Presence of sliders and slider springs in the S&A
assembly.  The S&A assembl y shall be radiographer with the axis of
radiation in line with the axis of the lead cup and detonator
holes.  Units which fail to meet the requirement of 3.3.1 shall be
classed defective and removed from the lot.  This test is
non-destructive .  An alternative inspection method may be used
provided that it can determine presence and position of sliders and
slider springs.  Any alternative method must be submitted as
specified in 4.4.5.  Radiographic equipment operations and
procedures shall be qualified in accordance with MIL-STD-453
In addition, the sensitivity
excluding the "marking" requirement.
of radiographic techniques shall be at least two (2) percent, and
the photographic density of the film used shall be of a quality
which will produce a sharp definition of internal structure.
