MIL-P-63332(AR)
3.11.9.5.3 Backlash.  The boresight movements in azimuth and elevation
shall be capable of meeting this requirement over the full limit of travel in
each direction.  Backlash in each boresight movement shall not exceed 0.10 mil.
3.11.9.6 Input coupling.
3.11.9.6.1 Excursion range.  Starting with the input coupling positioned
at the angular value specified in 3.11.9d rotation of the input couling shall
cause the line of sight to elevate a minimum of 22.0 degrees and depress a
minimum of 18.0 degrees.
3.11.9.6.2 Input coupling travel.  Rotation of the input coupling shall
be limited by contact with the travel stop pin.
3.11.9.6.3 Plumb travel.  Starting with the input coupling positioned at
the angular value specified in 3.11.9d and the line of sight in coincidence
with a target line which is perpendicular to Datum Plane "A", the line of
sight shall track the target line within 0.25 mil when elevated and depressed
through the range specified in 3.11.9.6.1.
3.12.9.6.4 Elevation accuracy.  This requirement shall be met with back-
lash removed and the angle measured in a plane which is perpendicular to Datum
Planes "A" and "D".  The angles formed by the line of sight and Surface "C" of
the input coupling shall remain constant within 0.20 mil at any elevation set-
ting through the range specified in 3.11.9.6.1.
3.11.9.6.5 Backlash. Backlash between the line of sight and the input
coupling shall not exeed 0.05 mil.
3.11.9.6.7 Dioptral adjustment.
3.11.9.7.1 Zero setting.  The diopter scale shall indicate zero within
0.25 diopter when the screen of the image tube is brought into best focus by
eyepiece adjustment when viewing with a dioptometer.
3.11.9.7.2 Excursion range.  The diopter movement shall be adjustable
through a minimum range of -3.5 to +3.5 diopters from the zero diopter scale
position of the eyepiece as read on a dioptometer when viewing the screen of
the image tube.
3.11.9.7.3 Backlash.
Backlash in the diopter movement shall not exceed
1/8 diopter.
3.11.9.8 Focus.
3.11.9.8.1 Range.  Rotation of the focusing knob shall bring targets from
40 feet to infinity into focus within the limits of the focusing knobs mechan-
ical stops.
