MIL-P-63332(AR)
alinement with the line of sight emitting from the objective end of the peri-
scope.  The target projector collimator shall be set at infinity focus, unless
otherwise specified.  The target projector collimator test reticle shall be
within the accuracies indicated for the following requirements:
Reticle shift
Backlash (boresight movements)
Five seconds of arc
Six minutes of arc
Parallelism of reticle and image
1 mil
Image centering
Twelve minutes of arc
Unity power system
Nine power system
4.5.2.3.2.3 Yiewing telescope.  A viewing telescope, capable of measuring
any line of sight deviations at the periscope eyepiece, in the "X" and "Y"
coordinates in seconds of arc shall be a Part of the test equipment.  The
viewing telescope shall be mounted so that the optical axis of the telescope
is in alinement with the line of sight emitting from the eyepiece of the peri-
scope.
4.5.2.3.2.4 Set-up device.  A set-up device of the front surface reflect-
ing mirror type shall be utilized for the alinement (auto-collimation) of the
periscope coupling articulation device front surface reflecting mirror, the  -
target projector collimator, and the viewing telescope.  The reflecting sur
face of the periscope coupling articulation device front surface reflecting
mirror shall be alined (auto-collimated) perpendicular with respect to Datum
Plane "A" and parallel with respect to Datum Plane "D" (see 3.11.9c) within
5.0 seconds.  The optical axis of the target projector collimator shall be    -
alined (auto-collimated) parallel with respect to Datum Plane "A" and perpen
dicular to Datum Plane "D" within 5.0 seconds.  The optical axis of the view-
ing telescope shall be alined (auto-collimated) parallel with respect to Datum
Plan "A" and perpendicular to Datum Plane "D" within 5.0 seconds.  The optical
axis of the viewing telescope shall be alined (auto-collimated) parallel with
respect to Datum Plane "A" and perpendicular to Datum Plane "D" within 5.0
seconds.  The set-up device shall also be capable of alining the mating
coupling of the periscope coupling articulation device at 67 degrees 30
minutes within 10 seconds with respect to Datum Plane "A".  All additional
set-up and calibration equipment, with complete provisions necessary for cer-
tification and proof of accuracy of the test equipment shall be provided and
shall become part of the testing equipment.
4.5.2.3.3 Image intensifier tube.  The testing equipment shall conform  to
the applicable test equipment requirements Of MIL-I-55340 for testing lumi-
nance-gain, center resolution, and image alinement of the image intensifier
tube.  The testing equipment shall provide the necessary features for monitor-
ing the voltages utilized in the tests of the image tube.
