3.7 Procedures.
3.7.1  Welding.  Welding of aluminum alloys, readily weldable
for structures shall be in accordance with MIL-W-45205.  All welds
3.7.1.1 Specimens.  Prior to production fabrication of any weld
joints, the contractor shall prepare workmanship specimens of all
weld joints representing the acceptable weld quality to be used in
production.  These specimens shall also represent the minimum
acceptable cleaning procedure.  These specimens shall be prepared
using the welting procedures to be used in production and may either
be an actual part or sample simulating all of the proposed weld.

the requirements established by the approved workmanship sample.
3.7.2 Soldering.
Soldering procedures and acceptance criteria
for the soldered connections shall comply with MIL-S-45743 and
MIL-S-46844.
3.7.2.1  Solderability.  Electronic assembly parts that are to
be soldered shall comply with the solderability requirements of
MIL-S-45743, MIL-S-46844 and MIL-STD-202 (Method 208).
3.8 Workmanship.  All parts shall be fabricated and finished in
a thorough workmanlike manner, and all manufacturing, processing and
assembly operations shall be correctly performed.  They shall be
clean and free of burrs, sharp edges, unblended radii, surface
defects, chips, dirt, grease and oil corrosion products and other
foreign matter.  The cleaning method used shall net be injurious to
any part or assembly, nor shall they be contaminated by the cleaning
agent.  Exterior surface coatings shall be continuous except for a
few light scratches not exposing base material.  All required
markings shall be neat, legible and sharply defined.
4.
QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
4.1  Responsibility for inspection.  Unless otherwise specified
in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for
the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein.
Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the
contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the
performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless
