that the apparatus is cycling properly.  The water shall be removed from the test
chamber before pulling the vacuum.  The primer should be placed in the chamber at
the end of one of-the water-under-pressure steps.  The entire test procedure shall
be repeateted continuously for 21 cycles.
4. 5.1.3 Shock. The primer shall be clamped in a suitable holding fixture
with the leads taped to the fixture, and subjected to shock in accordance with
MIL-STD-331, Test 101, or with the alternate test procedure described in
4 . 5 . 1 . 3 . 1 .  After shock, the primer shall pass only the continuity and resistance
test, 4. 6.1.1 and the capacitor discharge functioning test, 4.6.1.4.2.
4.5. 1. 3.1 Shock, alternate test procedures.  This is an alternate proce -
dure that may be performed in place of MIL-STD-331, Test 101, specimen in
4 . 5 . 1 . 3 ,  The holding fixture, with primers, shall be dropped 20 times succes-
sively, top surfaces up, in such a manner that the bottom, surface of the text fixture
lands squarely on a two-inch planking supported by a minimum of three inches of
cone rete.  The drop height shall be a minimum of 5 feet. The fixture, w ith
p r i m e r s , shall then be dropped an additional 20 times in such a manner that the
fixture lands on one of the bottom edges at an angle of approximately 45 degrees
relative to the planking.  The angle drops shall be made such that each of the
bottom, edges receives five impacts.
4.6 Quality conformance inspection.  Samples selected using the plans
and procedures set forth in Table II of this specification shall be subjected to
the tests and examinations as described in 4.6.1.
