4.l.2.1 Examination and test; The tests listed in Table shall be per-
formed on the f irst article sample in accordance with the test methods
prescribed in 4.3. Except-as otherwise specified, tests shall be con-
ducted with samples at 20 3C. Approval will be based upon examination
and test of the sample as specified in Table I. Sample formation shall
be as specified in 4.2.2. -

If any idividual sample fails to meet the applicable require-
ments, the first article shall be rejected.
Tolerance on ammunition conditioning temperature shall be
3C except when otherwise indicated.
Sample size shall be as specified in MIL-STD-286.
Test performed on composite sample (see 4.2.2).
Test performed in a 10-round group from each of the five
representative samples. Pressure, velocity, and action time
tests may be combined on the same sample.
Calculations performed on composite sample (see 4.2.2).
