4.6 Test methods and procedures.
4.6.1 Environmental.
4.6.1.1 Temperature test.- The quadrant shall be subjected to Test
Procedure I of MIL-F-13926; however, the temperatures specified in 3.4.1
and 3.4.2 shall apply.  When the quadrant has been stabilized at the tempera-
ture specified, the result of the specified test shall conform to the limits
outlined in 3.4.1 and 3.4.2 using test procedures outlined herein.
4.6.1.2 Sealing.- The quadrant shall be subjected to Test Procedure I
outlined in MIL-F-13926 and inspected for water penetration within the
counter area as specified in 3.5.
4.6.2 Performance.
4.6.2.1 Vibration.- Prior to performing the vibration test, determine
by visual and tactile inspection techniques that the quadrant shows no
evidence of loose, bent or broken components.  Subject the quadrant to
Vibration Procedure V of MIL-F-13926 using the frequency, duration and
amplitude specified in 3.4.3.  At the completion of this test, use visual
and tactile inspection techniques to determine conformance with 3.4.3.
4.6.2.2 Orientation.- Orienting the quadrant may be accomplished by
using a crossleveling type fixture and mounting adapter, the accuracy of
which shall conform to the accuracies depicted on Drawing D6523553 and
c8565834 both of which are listed on IEL 8626310. Prior to orienting the.
quadrant, the test fixture and adapter shall be positioned level in all
planes. Crossleveling of the fixture is accomplished by placing viewing
Telescopes c5549108 in the "V" slot of the adapter and by positioning a
plumb line approximately 40 feet from the viewing telescope and in coincidence
with the viewing telescope optical axis.  Raise and lower the line of sight
by activating the elevation handwheel of the fixture. The telescope's line
