5.1.1 Level A.  Recorders shall be individually protected and unit packaged in
accordance with method
of Specification MIL-P-116, without the use of contact
preservatives. All projections and sharp corners of the recorder shall be cushioned
and the recorder shall be blocked within the primary container to prevent movement,
5.1.2 Level C.  Recorders shall be afforded preservation and packaging in
accordance with the manufacturer's replacement-parts practice.
5.2 Packing (See 6.2)
5.2.1 Level A. Four recorders packaged as specified shall be packed in nailed
wood, wirebound wood (for class 3 use), or wood cleated plywood (overseas type)
boxes conforming to Specifications PPP-B-621, PPP-B-585, and PPP-B- 601,
respectively.  Plywood shall be type I or II, class 2, conforming to Specification
NN-P-515. Shipping containers shall have case liners conforming to Specification
MIL-L-1 0547 and appendix thereto. Box closures shall be as specified in the
appendix of the applicable box specification,
5.2.2 Level B.  Four recorders packaged as specified shall be packed in nailed
wood, corrugated or solid fiberboard, wirebound wood (for class 1 use),  or wood
cleated plywood (domestic type) boxes conforming to Specifications PPP-B-621,
PPP-B-636, PPP-B-585, and PPP-B-601, specification or appendix thereto.
Fiberboard boxes shall conform to the special requirements of the applicable box
specification.
5.2.3 Level C. Recorders packaged as specified shall be packed to afford
protection against damage during direct shipment from the supply source to the first
receiving activity for immediate use. Containers shall comply with Consolidated
Freight Classification Rules or other common carrier regulations applicable to the
mode of transportation.
5.3 Marking.
5.3.1 Normal marking.  In addition to any special marking required by the contract
or order, unit packages and exterior shipping containers shall be marked in accordance
with Standard MIL-STD-129.
5.3.2 Serial numbers. Unit packages and shipping containers shall be marked with
the serial numbers of the units contained within.
6. NOTES
6.1 Intended use. The recorder is intended for use in Torpedo Exercise Section
Mk 64 Mod 2.
