4 . 4 . 3 . 8 Component parts and concurrent repair parts testing. Raw
m a t e r i a l testings part testing, and certification shall b e p e r f o r m e d i n
a c c o r d a n c e with the criteria specified in the contract (see 6.1). This
w i l l include chemical analysis and physical tests of materials, and
t e s t s of protective finish, heat treatment, bonding, and function of
p a r t s as applicable. T h e contractor shall accomplish these tests prior
t o assembly of parts into the end item.

Packaging
testing.
4.4.3.9.1
Rifles.
4 . 4 . 3 . 9 . 1 . 1 The contractor shall furnish the Government representative
w i t h certification that the packaging materials conform to the applicable
p a c k a g i n g data sheets and specifications.
4.4.3.9.1.2 Determination of cleanliness testing. The contractor
s h a l l test items from each inspection lot for determination of cleanliness
u s i n g the test method specified in 4.5.10.1. Sampling shall be in accordance
w i t h MIL-P-116.
4 . 4 . 3 . 9 . 1 . 3 Heat-sealed seam and vacuum retention testing. The
c o n t r a c t o r s h a l l t e s t l e v e l A unit packages from each inspection lot
for heat-sealed seam and vacuum retention using the test methods specified
i n 4.5.10.2 and 4.5.10.3 respectively. Sampling shall be in accordance
w i t h MIL-P-116.
4 . 4 . 3 . 9 . 2 Manufacturer installed equipment. (See Engineering Parts
List EPL-8413866, Equipment, M a n u f a c t u r e r installed.) The contractor
s h a l l test manufacturer installed equipment packages from each inspection
l o t for leakage using the test method specified in 4.5.10.4. Sampling
shall be in accordance with MIL-P-116.
4 . 4 . 3 . 9 . 3 R e p a i r p a r t s . T e s t i n g of packaging of repair parts shall
b e performed in accordance with the criteria specified in the contract
( s e e 6.1).
4 . 4 . 4 Inspection equipment.
4 . 4 . 4 . 1 Unless otherwise specified in the procurement documents
( s e e 6.1), responsibilities for acquisition} m a i n t e n a n c e a n d d i s p o s i t i o n
of measuring and testing equipment prescribed on lists contained on the
I n d e x of Inspection Equipment Lists, Drawing IEL-7314350, and for all
o t h e r inspection equipment required to perform inspection required by
a p p l i c a b l e specifications, shall be in accordance with MIL-I-45607.
