s h a l l be fired 10-shot targets for accuracy using the procedure specified
i n 4.5.7.1.2 and the specific sequential test plan and acceptance criteria
( s e e 3.3.24.2.2 and figures 1 through 5) determined for each lot of am-
m u n i t i o n used.
4 . 5 . 7 . 2 . 1 Determination of the specific sequential test plan to
be used for each ammnunition lot.
( a ) The process qualification rifles shall be fired and targets
m e a s u r e d as specified in 4.5.7.1.2 and 4.5.7.1.3 using the lot of am-
I f the same lot of
m u n i t i o n furnished for rifle accuracy testing.
a m m u n i t i o n for establishing the process qualification rifles is to be
used for individual rifle testing, additional firing will not be re-
quired.
( b ) The ratio of the standard deviation to the average in
p e r c e n t a g e shall be calculated using the following formula:
( c ) Determination of the specific sequential test plan shall
be made by selecting the plan which has an R value numerically nearest
the above calculated R value for the ammunition being used (see figures
1 through 5).
4 . 5 . 7 . 2 . 2 Use of sequential sampling plan.
*
4 . 5 . 7 . 2 . 2 . 1 Determination acceptance and rejection criteria by
entering the sequential test plan at the average FM value of the process
qualification rifles and reading vertically to the intersection of the
m a x i m u m criteria curves.  R e a d horizontally to the left from each inter-
s e c t i o n to fins the requirement value for each maximum criteria curve.
4 . 5 . 7 . 2 . 2 . 2 Fire one 10-shot target and calculate the FM, If the
FM is less than the maximum acceptance requirement for 1 target, accept
t h e rifle; if greater than the maximum rejection requirement for 1 target,
r e j e c t the rifle; if in between these limits, fire 2 more 10-shot targets
and calculate the average FM of the 3 targets.
4 . 5 . 7 . 2 . 2 . 3 If the average FM of the 3 targets is less than the
m a x i m u m acceptance requirement for 3 targets, accept the rifle; if the
average FM of the 3 targets is greater than the maximum rejection re-
q u i r e m e n t for 3 targets, reject the rifle; if in between these limits,
fire 3 more 10-shot targets and calculete the average FM of the 6 targets.
