4.5.2.2 Completely Assembled Round Torque Test. -The
Warhead-Fuze junction, if applicable, and the Warhead-Motor
junction shall be tested simultaneously. This test applies
to para. 4.4.2.5, 103.
4.5.2.3 Complete Round Torque Test (When fuze component
is Proximity M429).-This test applies to para. 4.4.2.6, 102.
4.5.3 XM255 Warhead Charge Circuit Resistance Test
4.5.3.1 Each sample warhead/fuze assembly shall be sub-
jected to a charge circuit resistance test. Each warhead
umbilical connector shall be connected to a pulsed resistance
checking device.  The resistance of the charge circuit shall
be ascertained.  Any fuzed warhead failing the requirement
shall be classed defective.  One or more defects shall fail
the lot.  The test shall be performed using equipment in
accordance with 4.4.4.
4.5.3.2 Each warhead to be ballistically tested shall
be subjected to a charge circuit resistance test both before
and after temperature conditioning.  The resistance of the
charge circuit shall be ascertained.  Any fuzed warhead fail-
ing the requirement shall be classed defective.  One or more
defects shall fail the lot.  The test shall be performed using
equipment in accordance with 4.4.4.
4.5.4 XM255 Warhead Function Time.-Each warhead to be
ballistically tested will have its fuze set for one-thousand
(1000) meters using a charger-setter as set forth in the

made at this time.  The function time is the time from first
motion of the round to first motion of the ogive from the war-
head.  The function time as indicated on the test equipment
shall be correlated between the calibrated nominal time value
of the charter-setter and the nominal time value of 2.165
seconds.  The times recorded for this test are for information
only.
4.5.5 Ballistic Test (See 4.4.3.1)
4.5.5.1 Each complete round selected shall be weighed
(nearest one hundredth kilograms) and conditioned to assure a
uniform temperature throughout its entire mass at the time
of firing.  The twenty-four (24) round sample shall be tested
at three temperatures; eight rounds at -54 degrees centigrade,
