MIL-R-70503A(AR)
3.1.2 Interface definition.  The RMS when installed on the
AH-1S series helicopters shall interface with the following:
-
Aircraft power
-
Universal turret
-
7.62mm gun pod M18)
-
Launcher M158A1 - 7 tube
M158A1 - 7 tube
M158A1 (RC) - 7 tube
M200A1 - 19 tube
XM227 - 19 tube with fuze interface
XM (Lightweight) - 7 tube
XM (Lightweight) - 19 tube
- Night vision goggles (AN/PVS-5)
- 2.75 inch rocket (MK-40Mod 3 motors)
Warhead/fuze (2.75 inch rocket system)
- Fire control system (FCS)
3.1.2.1 Electrical interface.  All electrical interface with
the RMS shall be through one electrical connector on the back of
the Display Unit/Rocket Management Subsystem (DU/RMS); the signal
interface requirements shall be defined as those set forth in the
RMS Signal Interface Control Document, 12011837.
3.1.2.1.1 Master arming signal.  The RMS shall interface with
the helicopter master arm circuitry through the DU/RMS.
Electrical power for firing shall be provided when the helicopter
MASTER ARM switch is closed.
3.1.2.1.2 DU/RMS Panel illumination power.  The RMS shall
interface with the helicopter lighting circuitry for electrical
power to illuminate the DU/RMS panel lights.
3.1.2.1.3 Wing stores firing switches.  The RMS shall
interface with the wing stores firing switches on the cyclic
controls through the DU/RMS.  Closure of the wing stores firing
switches shall be the final step in the rocket firing sequence.
3.1.2.1.4 Rocket launcher assemblies.  The RMS shall
interface with the wing-mounted rocket launchers as defined in
3.1.2 through the Operations Unit/Rocket Management Subsystem
(OU/RMS).  Signals to set the warhead fuzes and to ignite the
rocket motors shall be supplied to the rocket launchers from the
OU/RMS upon commands from the DU/RMS.  The DU/RMS shall have the
capability of identifying the launcher type attached to the
helicopter stations by electrical circuits provided in the
launchers for maintaining 7-tube and 19-tube firing sequence.
