MIL-R-9345 (USAF)
-13-
4.4.2.6.1 Maximum allowable cracking pressure differential shall be
4 inches of water.
4.4.2.7 Combat changeover mechanism:
4.11.2.7.1. Normal to combat range change. - The time interval of normal to
combat range change shall be such as to give a rate of cabin pressure decrease
of no more than 2 and no less than 0.5 inches Hg per second.
4.4.2.7.2 Combat to normal range change. - The time interval of combat
to normal range change shall be such as to give no more than 2 inches Hg
per minute rate of cabin pressure increase.
4.4.2.8 Shut-off leakage .- The regulator shall be installed in a chamber
while in the shut-off or inoperative condition. The maximum differential
pressure for the regulator, as specified in the detail specification, shall
be imposed across the valve. The air flow through the outflow valve shall be
suitably measured.
4.4.2.8.1 Test requirement. - The maximum allowable leakage through the
outflow valve shall be as specified in the detail specification.
4.5 Special test. - One regulator representative of every two hundred or
fraction thereof on the order shall be subjected to the following tests:
4.5.1 Low temperature.- The regulator shall be mounted in test setup
No. 1 and subjected to an ambient altitude temperature of -54 2C for a
period of at least 24 hours before operation. After this period and while
still at this temparature, the regulator shall be subjected to the sampling
tests. Limit tolerances shall be increased 100 percent over limits specified
herein for the applicable ranges.
14.5.2 High temperature.- The regulator shall be mounted in test setup
No. 1 and subjected to an ambient altitude temporature of 71 2C for a
period of at least 24 hours before operation. After this period and while
still at this temperature, the regulator shall be subjected to the sampling
tests. Limit tolerances shall be increased 100 percent over limits specified
herein for the applicable ranges.
4.6 All parts, specimens, or assemblies destroyed in making tests required
by this specification, to determine compliance with the specification, shall
be in addition to the quantity specified in the contract or purchase order and
shall be furnished without increasing the coat of the contract or order.
5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY
5.1 General. - The packaging, packing, and marking requirements specified
herein apply to direct purchase by or direct shipments to the Government.
5.2 Packaging and packing.- Each regulator shall be packaged and packed
for shipment in accordance with Specification MIL-P-5633.
