MIL-S-24686A(SH)
3.2 Design.
3.2.1 General.  The automatic sprinklers shall be the frangible bulb type.
The sprinklers shall meet the sensitivity requirements for quick response
sprinklers defined in ANSI/UL 199.  The sprinklers shall be leak tight for
extended periods of time when pressurized with seawater.  The sprinklers shall
open as intended and release all parts at pressures of 5 to 175 psig, when the
bulb temperature is within the actuating temperature range defined in ANSI/UL 199.
3.2.2  Temp erature rating .  Automatic sprinkler temperature ratings,
temperature  classifications, maximum overhead temperatures and colors coding shall
be as specified in table I.  The temperature classification and frame colors shall
be consistent with ANSI/UL 199 for each temperature rating.  The maximum overhead
temperatures shall be consistent with ANSI/UL 199 for maximum ceiling
temperatures. The bulb colors shall be consistent with NFPA 13.

3.2.3 Nominal orifice size.  Nominal orifice sizes, corresponding discharge
coefficients , and identification features shall be as specified in table II and
shall be consistent with ANSI/UL 199 requirements.  Dimensional tolerances on
orifice sizes shall be consistent with ANSI/UL 199 requirements.  The discharge
coefficient "K" is defined as:
