Adjuster - Rear Brake Slack.
Self-adjusters for each wheel providing correct compensation for
lining wear without lock-up or unbalance and manual means to
adjust the foundation brakes initially and in case of malfunction.
Spring Parking Brake.
VMRS 13-004
Provide 2 ea. (with single axle) or 4 ea. (with tandem and tridem
axles) heavy duty spring type emergency-parking brake actuators
on each axle, as necessary to prevent wheel rotation on grades up
to a min. 30 %.
Main springs of the elastomer coated type to restrict corrosion.
Provide means on each semitrailer to cage the springs. Provide
environmental protective covers, boots, and seals on each
chamber.
Line - Air (Non - Metallic).
VMRS 13-010-003
All-hose type per TMC-ATA RP-305, having reuseable swivel
fittings permitting hose replacement from bulk hose supply.
Plumbing routed within the protection of framing members.
Elastomer cushioned clamps and grommets or thru-frame
connectors to secure and support hose.
Support lines at a max. of 36-in. span.
Min. 3-in. of hose slack at relay valves ports and identify each
hose's function adjacent to each fitting with waterproof means
(tags).
Tank - Air.
VMRS 13-010-004
Air reservoirs per DOT and SAE J10.
Min. 2-ea. furnished, 1-ea. service, and 1-ea. Emer-Pk spring
release, and (when furnished) l-ea. Air Suspension with
isolating pressure protection valve. All reservoirs furnished with
interior antirust coating. No component lower than bottom of
the frame rails.
Valve - Ejector, Air Tank Moisture.
VMRS 13-010-007
Provide automatic drain valves on each air tank.
Valve - Relay, Air Brake.
VMRS 13-010-009
High speed type having waterproof features, including providing
an exhaust hose long enough to preclude water entering relay
valve during creekbed fording.
