Filters shall be marked for shipment in accord-

5.3.5 Special marking. Each consolidation container (5.1.3,1,2 and
5.1.3.1.3) shall have pasted to or printed on the upper surface a list
of contents, with nomenclature and quantity of each part contained,
5.4 Repair part. When the components of the shelter system (PL5-19-6523)
and the filter axial utilities unit (PL5-19-6821) are procured for storage
and issue as repair parts , preservation unit and intermediate packing,
pecking and marking shall be specified on the packaging data sheets which
are identified by the item. national stock number.
6, NOTES
6.1 Intended use. The collective protection equipment covered herein
is intended to provide a collective protection system in which the make
up ventilation and pressurization air is filtered of toxic gases and
aerosols. A protective entrance is provided through which personnel may
pass without seriously affecting the pressurization of' the shelter and
without introducing contamination into the protected area.
6.2 Ordering data.
Procurement documents should specify the following:
a. Title, number, and date of this specification.
b. Preproduction and reliability qualifications.
(1) Time allowed for contractor submission of samples for Gover-
nment test and evaluation after award of contract.
(2) Name and address of test facility and shipping instruc-
tions when testing is performed by the Government.
(3) Time required for the Government to notify the contractor
whether or not to proceed with production.

Type of procurement ( see 6.3).
(U Complete system procurement (E5-19-6523).
(2) Split procurement as defined by Drawings PL5-19-6821 and
PL5-19-6822.
6.3 This specification covers two types of procurements (1) a complete
M51 shelter system consisting of both hardware and software assemblies and
accessories (E5-19-6523), and (2) a split procurement in which sybsystem
are procured separately. The M68 Filters and Utilities Unit with Accessories
is defined by Drawing PL5-19-6821, and the Shelter and Entrance Assembly with
Accessories is defined by Drawing PL5-19-6822.
