3.7.12.4
Handle lock load. When a proof load of 200-pound tension is applied
to the grip of the operating handle, the operating handle and the lock shall not
be permanently deformed nor damaged.
3.7.12.5
Dropline connecting plunger device. The dropline connecting plunger
device shall be fully retracted by the weight of the survival kit container when
the survival kit container is placed flat against the bottom of the ejection
seat pan and weighted at the center of the survival kit container to achieve a
total weight of 30 pounds. The plunger, when extended, shall withstand a force
of 200 pounds in any horizontal direction without damage. The plunger, when free,
shall extend 1-1/2 inches (plus or minus 1/8 inch) from the bottom of the survival
kit container. The changing of modes shall occur while the plunger is extended
in the range of l-1/8 inches (plus or minus 1/8 inch) from the bottom of the
survival kit container.
3,7.12.6
Aft compartment. The unsupported bottom of the aft compartment of
the survival kit container including the compressible spacer shall withstand a
static vertical distributed (5-inch by 15-inch area) load of 270 pounds proof,
400 pounds ultimate, for a minimum period of 2 seconds.
