3 . 4 . 2 . 2 T h e brake system shall possess the capability of preventing
d u s t and f o r e i g n matter from getting into the brake system.
3 . 4 . 2 . 3 T h e brake system shall be such that the brake adjuster
m e c h a n i s m is accessible.
3.4.2.4 The brake line installation shall be such that any line
c a n be replaced in not more than thirty minutes with standard or
commercial tools by one man.
3.4.2.5 The brake line shall be installed such that visual
i n s p e c t i o n can be performed by maintenance personnel.
3 . 4 . 2 . 6 The parking brake mechanical linkage shall be installed to
g i v e access for adjustment.
3.4.2.7 The surge brake shall incorporate a grease fitting so
t h a t greasing of the surge brake main guide shaft can be accomplished
w i t h standard or commercial tools.
3.4.3 C h a s s i s .
3 . 4 . 3 , 1 S p r i n g s . A grease fitting shall be incorporated to allow
g r e a s i n g of spring s h a c k l e s with standard or commercial tools. The
g r e a s e fitting shall
be accessible to maintenance personnel.
3 , 4 . 3 . 2 T i e r o d s . A grease fitting shall be incorporated to allow
g r e a s i n g of the tie rods with standard or commercially available
t o o l s . T h e grease fitting shall be accessible to maintenance
personnel.
3.4.4
Electrical.
3 . 4 . 4 . 1 T h e e l e c t r i c a l harness shall be fabricated in three sections
t o allow replacement of any one s e c t i o n in not more than one hour
by one man.
3 . 4 . 4 . 2 T h e e l e c t r i c a l harness s h a l l b e i n s t a l l e d t o b e v i s i b l e
f o r inspection by maintenance personnel.
3 . 4 . 4 . 3 L i g h t b u l b s s h a l l b e a c c e s s i b l e w i t h standard or commercial
h a n d tools by maintenance personnel.
3 . 4 . 5 Rail and chock system.
