DESCRIPTION
NOMENCLATURE
1.
Hot & cold chamber
Standard type conforming to the accuracies
outlined in test facilities specified
under test facilities of MIL-F-13926

Standard shop type accurate to within

4.6 Test methods and procedures.
4.6.1 Environmental.
4.6.1.1 Temperature test. - The telescope shall be subjected to test
Procedure I of MIL-F-13926; however, the temperatures specified in 3.4.1
and 3.4.2 shall apply. When the item under test has been stabilized at
the temperature specified, the result of the specified test shall conform
to the limits outlined in 3.4.1 and 3.4.2 using test procedures outlined
here in.
4.6.1.2 Sealing. - This test shall be performed on a 100% inspection
basis using testing equipment the accuracy of which shall conform to the
accuracy depicted on Drawing F8565556. When using pressure test fixture,
the fixture shall be set-up as outlined in set-up instructions shown on
Drawing F8565556, The gas used shall be dry nitrogen having a dew point
or -25F. After connecting the test equipment to the unit under test,
adjust the pressure to the pressure specified in 3.7 and maintain the
pressure for the time specified in 3.7. pressure to remain constant to
assure compliance wiht 3.7.At the completion of the test, connect a dew
point tester to the exit port and purge the unit under test until -25F is
recorded and seal the unit after adjusting the internal pressure in the
unit to the value specified in 3.7. Record this internal pressure.
4.6.1.2.1 Internal pressure. - This test to be performed using standard
shop type pressure gage and standard shop type inspection techniques.  This
test to be performed on a 100% inspection basis just prior to packaging.
Any unit found not containing the internal pressure recorded in 4.6.1.2
shall be rejected and repressurized and retested in accordance with 4.6.1.2.
All retested units shall be set aside for a minimum of 12 hours and then
retested for internal pressure in accordance with 3.7. Should the unit
fail the second test, the unit is to be considered rejected.
4.6.2 Performance.
4.6.2.1 Orientation. - Position Fixture F7573980 in accordance with
set-up instructions outlined on the drawing and position and secure Adapter
F8566269 and the unit under test to the fixture as outlined in the adapter
set-up instructions. Upon completion of all set-up instructions, the unit
shall be orientated as outlined in 3.8.1.
