4.4.3.5 Dynamic conditions. With one and one-half times the payload on the body and
with the body fully extended and operating through various positions, as deemed necessary by
Government inspector, and with the body being raised, lowered and dumped for at least 1/2 hour,
the water soluble penetrant and magnafluxed areas shall be inspected for any evidence of cracks.
Any evidence of cracks or deformation shall be cause for rejection of the vehicle.

4.4.3.6 Static conditions. With the body in its most vertically extended position and with
three times the payload placed on the body, water soluble penetrant and magnafluxed areas shall
be inspected for evidence of cracks. Evidence of cracks or deformation shall be cause for
rejection of the vehicle. At the manufacturer's option, dye penetrant and magnaflux inspection
may be conducted prior to the first production vehicle inspection, provided the tests specified in
4.4.3.5 and 4.4.3.6 are conducted prior to the inspection; and records of the tests and the dye
penetrant and magnaflux inspection witnessed by the Government are presented at the time of
the first production vehicle inspection.

4.4.3.6.1 Critical areas. At least the following critical areas shall be inspected by dye
penetrant or magnaflux:
(a)
Sub-frame, trunnion, yoke, body cylinder guides, and attaching areas
(b)
Struts, hoisting mechanism
(c)
Structural steel of body and sub-frame
(d)
Tailgate support areas, type I
(e)
Platform support areas, types II and III.

4.4.3.7 Hoist stability. The hoist shall provide sufficient structural strength to preclude
shifting laterally or fore and aft, without evidence of undue lateral flexing of the structure and
without evidence of wear due to binding of the hoist members.

4.4.3.8 Controls. Controls shall be operated and shall meet or exceed the requirements
specified herein.

4.4.3.9 Hydraulic system verification. The hydraulic system shall be verified to assure
that all contractual requirements are met.

4.4.3.10 Body electrical system. The body electrical system shall be verified to assure
that the system has sufficient capacity to meet the requirements specified herein.
