4.4.4 Servicing and adjustment of the hydraulic system. Servicing and adjustment of the
hydraulic system shall be demonstrated as specified herein.

4.4.5 Final road test. The final road test shall be performed after 4.4.3.5 through 4.4.3.10
have been completed. The road test shall be as specified in 4.4.3, except the minimum distance
shall be 20 miles.

4.4.5.1 Final operational test. The final operational test shall be performed subsequent to
4.4.5. The body shall be fully elevated, dumped and retracted with a uniformly distributed
payload for not less than 30 cycles, with a 30-mintute interval between each 10 cycles.

4.4.6 Performance test. The body assembly shall be subject to, but not limited to, the
following tests:
(a)
Controls activate when the transmission is in neutral
(b)
Controls return to neutral position when the operator releases the control
(c)
Operate equipment using each set of controls separately
(d)
Check to insure that the entire system can be operated smoothly and without jerking
motions in any position
(e) Determine whether the body remains level in all positions with one and one-half the
specified loads in the body.
(f) Check to determine whether the body can be safely lowered, from maximum reach
position, with rated payload, with the hydraulic pump and engine not operating
(g) Check the hydraulic system, including the pump at 10 percent above the pump
manufacturer's maximum operating pressure setting for normal workload conditions.

4.4.7 Body treatment and painting. The certification regarding body cleaning, treating,
and prime painting, as required by MIL-STD-1223, shall be presented to Government
representatives for examination and approval.
4.5 Production sample. Upon acceptance of the first production vehicle, the vehicle shall
remain at the manufacturing facility as a production sample and shall be the last vehicle shipped
on the contract. The contractor shall maintain the vehicle in a serviceable condition for the
duration of the contract.
4.6 Failure. Failure of the first production vehicle to meet requirements of the contract
shall be cause for the Government to refuse acceptance of all vehicles under contract until
