dropped from a height of 5 plus or minus 0.25 feet onto a
2 inch thick pine plank.  The test set shall then be functioned
in accordance with 4.4.2 and checked for compliance with the
specified requirements.
4.4.4 Load test of male and female connectors.-With the
connector held securely in a tensile testing machine, the
required force shall be applied at the crimping end of each
prong and contact separately with a speed of head travel of 1
inch per minute maximum.  Observation shall be made for com-
pliance with the specified requirements.
4.4.5 Pull test of crimped prong and contact connections.-
The prong and contact connections shall be placed in a tensile
testing machine and sufficient force applied to pull the wire
out of the sample or break the wire.  The test shall be con-
ducted with a speed of head travel of 1 inch per minute maximum.
Observation shall be made for compliance with the specified
requirements.
4.4.6 Resistance of the lamp. -The resistance of the lamp
shall be measured using an ohmeter.  Observation shall be made
for compliance with the applicable drawing requirement.
4.4.7 Functioning of lamps.-The lamps shall be tested prior
to assembly in the test set.  The lamp shall be connected in
series to a fifteen (15) ohm resistor, plus or minus 10
percent, then connected to a pulse generator and functioned at
the twenty seven (27) milliwatt second energy level for one hundred
(100) consecutive pulses.  The lamp shall be observed for com-
pliance with the specified requirement.  Lamps subjected to
this test shall not be returned to the lot.
