n. Measure p-p signal and make the following computations for
Band 1, Band 2 and Band 3:
P-P signal x 1.259 = Reference Attenuation (MAX)
P-P Signal x 0.794 = Reference Attenuation (MIN)
Band 1 60 mV x 1.259 = 76 Reference Attenuation (MAX)
60 mV x 0.794 = 48 Referemce Attenuation (MXN)
I
Band 2 40 MV x 1.259 = SO Reference Attention (MAX)
40 mV x 0.794 = 32 Reference Attenuation (MIN)
Band 3 45 MV x 1.259 = 57 Reference Attenuation (MAX)
45 mv x 0.794 = 36 Reference AttenuatiOn (MIN)
Record the
as per the
results of the above caputations,
o.
followlng example, on the Reference Attenuation cards
attached to the cable retaining cover:
Band 1 48 to 76 mV
Band 2 32 to 50 mV
..
Band 3 36 to 57 mV

(This
explanatory natura that may be helpful, but is not mandatory.)
6.1 Intended use.
The noise tester is designed to determine
the integrated noise power of the Solid State X-Band Source
(10548182/10556651 ) over the range of 600 Hz to 2 MKz, and grade it
on a pass/fall, go/no go basis. The X-Band Source is a subassembly
of the Receiver-Transmitter, RT-860/VPS-2 (a part of Radar Set
AN/VPS-2) a subassembly of MX-8046A/TPM-22 (a part of Radar Test Set
AN/TPM-22) and a subassembly of the R.F. Control Assembly of the
Radar System Tester AN/VPM-Z.
