TEST METHOD NO. 2
LIFTING SPEED - LOWERING SPEED
1.
TEST APPARATUS:
a. Linear measurement equipment.
b. Stopwatch.
2.
TEST PROCEDURE:
a. Record time in seconds required to raise rated load (see 3.9.6)
from ground to maximum lift height.
b. Record time to lower rated load at maximum speed (full-open
valve) to 3- to 4-foot height. Load to be abruptly stopped at
the 3- to 4-foot height. Record height at stop.
c. Repeat steps "a" and "b" a minimum of 3 times.
d. Compute lifting speed and lowering speed and use the fastest
rate obtained from each as the established speeds.
e. Repeat steps "a" through "d" without load.
