The nylon web belts shall be not less than 25 mm (1 inch) in width, black, grey, or olive drab in
color and each part terminated on one end with a loop through a guide release track fitting. Strap
assembly shall be capable of being tensioned and disconnected by a quick release black. Top
surface of anchor tracks shall be recessed not less than 3.2 mm (0.125 inch) below surface of
rubber cushion. Strap assembly length shall be adjustable from 460 mm (18 inches)
to 1070 mm (42 inches).
3.5.4.2 Streetside meter/plug-in cabinet. A meter/plug-in cabinet shall be furnished as
specified herein. The streetside cabinet shall be constructed of steel or aluminum and shall be
reinforced to support the loads specified herein (see figure 3).
3.5.4.2.1 Cabinet base. The cabinet base shall enclose the streetside wheelwell housing.
The cabinet base and the cabinet shall be the same length. The cabinet base at the floor level
shall be recessed 50 mm (2 inches) in depth (in relation to the cabinet) and 230 mm (9 inches) in
height. Recess in the cabinet base will provide sufficient area to tiedown the two container
assemblies that will be stowed between the curbside and streetside cabinets. The cabinet and
cabinet base shall be provided with back(s).
3.5.4.2.2 Cabinet. The cabinet shall consist of three drawers, six cubicles and two full
length side hung doors. The two doors shall enclose the three drawers and the six cubicles. The
cabinet shall have a minimum exterior width of 1165 mm (46 inches) and a minimum front to
rear exterior depth of 380 mm (15 inches). The cabinet shall be constructed to maximum
height obtainable.
3.5.4.2.3 Cabinet drawers. Three cabinet drawers in a horizontal plane immediately above
the wheelwell housing shall be provided. Drawers shall have a maximum attainable height, front
to rear depth and width. The drawers shall be identical and shall be located below the six
cubicles in 3.5.4.2.4. Each drawer shall be designed to accept a payload of 12 kg (25 pounds).
Each drawer shall be provided with drawer slides. Drawer slides shall be capable of preventing
the drawer from pulling out of the cabinet unless the drawer slide lock is released manually.
3.5.4.2.3.1 Drawer latches. Each drawer shall be provided with a latch that will hold the
drawer in the closed position and be sized to allow grasping with two fingers and possibly the
thumb to unlatch and pull the drawer out to its maximum position.
3.5.4.2.4 Cubicles. Six cubicles shall be provided above the three drawers specified herein.
The cubicles shall be one above the other, three in a horizontal plane. The interior dimensions of
the cubicles shall be equal distance in height and a minimum of 380 mm (15 inches) in width and
