3.4.1.6.8.2 Modulator Test Cover Assembly.
3.4.1.6.8.2.1 Function.
The Modulator Test Cover Assembly shall replace
the Modulator Housing Cove r during testing and maintenance of the RF Section
of the Radar Set.
The Test Cover shall provide safe access to the units
within the Modulator Housing.
3.4.1.6.8.2.2 Form Factor.
The Modulator Test Cover Assembly shall
be capable of attachment directly to the Modulator Housing. Transparent
access covers shall provide visibility of the RF Section and safe access to
the section shall be provided by suitable interlocks when the covers are
opened. The Cover Assembly shall include a capacitor load which can be
used to load the output of the Pulser when the Klystron Power Amplifier is
disconnected while checking the Pulser.
It shall also contain a capacitor
divider for monitoring the output pulse of the Pulser and bring the divided
signal to the test points on the f rent panel. A shelf and tie-down straps

The overall dimensions of the Cover shall be 31 -5/8 inches by
13-3/8 inches by 6-3/8 inches.
3..1.6.8.2.3 High-Voltage Probe.
A high-voltage probe shall be provided
for use in conjunction with the Modulator Test Cover Assembly to make direct
diagnostic measurements up to 20, 000 Vdc on the Pulser and high-voltage
power supplies of the radar.
The probe characteristics are:
(a) The probe shall provide an attenuation of 100 to 1 of the input voltage.
(b) The probe shall be suitable for use with the AN/ PSM-4 or other
multimeters on the 250 V stale.
(c) The probe shall be equipped with banana plug connectors and a
closed ground lug.
