When the operating cur rent between points listed in column 2 is within the
limits specified in column 3, the circuits are functioning properly. Relay
monitor points (for 3.4.1.6.8.8.6) are specified in column 5.
3.4.1.6.8.8.5.1 Overload Test Controls.
Relay tester controls shall be
capable of controlling current over the range required for each relay to be
tested. Tester circuits shall be protected against damage by large in-rush
currents by large capacitors connected acress several of the test circuit
connections.
3.4.1.6.6.8.8.5.2 Harnesses.
A harness shall be provided for the relays
in the High-Voltage Power Supply and one for the relays in the C W Illuminator
Power Supply. The harnesses shall be long enough to permit testing while
the power supplies remain in the Modulator Housing with the electrical
connectors disconnected.
Proper relay contact continuity shall
3.4.1.6.8.8.6 Relay Contact Continuity.
be determined by visual indication.
Test current shall be 10 mA dc +0, -20
per cent. Open Circuit voltage shall not exceed 6 Vdc. (A lamp may not be
used due to initial in-rush current. )
3.4.1.6.8.8.7 Controls.
All operating controls shall be suitably marked so
that an operator may operate the tester without reference to supporting docu-
ments (manuals or check lists).
Controls for each of the tests and accept/
reject criteria for each test shall be evident.
3.4.1.6.8.9 Waveguide (W/G) Switch By pass. Provisions shall be made to
disable and bypass the Waveguide Switch, (2A2S1) (mounted on the Trans-
mitting Wave guide Assembly) in order to make it impossible to radiate from
the antenna when the Radar Set is mounted on the bench in the shop.
