4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
4.1 Responsibility for Inspection.
Unless otherwise specified in the
contract or Purchase Order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of
all inspection and test requirements as specified herein.
Except as otherwise
specified, the supplier may utilize his own facilities or any commercial
laboratory acceptable to the Government.
The Government reserves the right to
perform any of the inspections or tests set forth in this specification where
such inspections or tests are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services
conform to prescribed requirements.
4.1.1 Test Procedures.
Detailed Test Procedures shall be prepared by the
contractor for each classification of tests and inspections.
4.2 Classification of Tests.
The inspection and testing of the Test Sets
shall be in accordance with MIL-I-4508 and be classified as follows:
a. First Article Tests (4.3)
b.
Quality Conformance Tests (4.4)
4.3 First Article Testing.
4.3.1 First Article Equipments.
First Article Tests shall be accomplished on
three Test Sets representative of the Production Test Sets.
The Test Sets
shall be identified with Nameplate and complete identification data in the
same manner as production Test Sets, including serial number identification.
4.3.2
First Article Tests.
The First Article Tests are intended to provide
assurance that the design and operation of the Test Set will meet the
