4.5.2 T e s t s .
4.5.2.1 Leakage test.  The heating element of each unit heater shall be
tested at a hydrostatic pressure of 300 or 200 lb/in2 air pressure with the
heating element under water.  Any unit heater in which there is evidence of
leakage when tested shall not be offered for delivery.
4.5.2.2 Operational test.  The fan assembly of each unit heater shall be
tested at rated voltage and current to determine whether the fan will operate.
Any unit heater in which the fan, or fan assembly fails to operate shall not be
offered for delivery.
4.6 Maintenance demonstration.  The first production unit shall be
examined after testing, and the capability to maintain, disassemble and repair
the unit shall be demonstrated to a Government representative.  The demonstra-
tion shall be conducted utilizing the recommended tools and with other than
expert mechanics.  The maintainability demonstration shall include but not be
limited to the following:
(a) After fan guards are removed, fan blades may be cleaned without
requiring the removal of the fan assembly from the unit.
(b) The blades of fan may be cleaned without being bent out of
alinement.
