4.5.6
Test procedures, valve.
4.5.6.1
Leakage at proof pressure. Prior to assembly of a squib into
the valve body, the valve shall be subjected to a pressure of 4500 200
psig using dry inert gas. Pressure shall be applied to the normally
closed outlet port for 5 minutes. The valve shall be submerged in water
and shall show no evidence of leakage. The pressure shall be released and
the valve inspected for evidence of permanent distortion. This test shall
be repeated with pressure applied for 5 minutes simultaneously to the inlet
and both outlet ports. The valve shall be re-examined for evidence of
permanent distortion.
4.5.6.2
Bridge wire resistance. The resistance of the squib bridge
wire shall be determined. A current of 0.01 amperes maximum shall be
applied to the pins of the valve electrical connector. Resistance shall
not be less than 0.6 ohms nor more than 1.2 ohms.
4.5.6.3
Insulation resistance. The valve shall be subjected to a
potential of 500 50 volts rms, 60 cps, for 1 second minimum, applied
between each electrical connector pin and the case. The pins may be
connected together to test simultaneously if desired. Resistance shall
be 2 megohms minimum.
