|  4.4.4 End item testing. Each unit of production shall be tested as specified
in 4.6.1. Any nonconformance shall be cause for rejection of the unit. When a
first article is not required, the initial unit of production shall be tested as
specified in 4.6.2 and when applicable 4.6.3 and 4.6.4. Any nonconformance
shall be cause for rejection of the lot. The functional test in 4.6.2 shall be
performed and shall be witnessed by a representative of the Government prior to
acceptance unless satisfactory evidence is produced that this item has previ-
ously satisfactorily passed this test either in the manufacturer's plant or in a
commercial application (see 6.4). The Government reserves the right to check-
test such items to determine validity of the evidence produced.
