| 3.5.2.2.2 Wiring. All wire shall be secured neatly into harnesses. Wires
in all harnesses shall be of the proper length and shall be so run and
secured (with insulated claps ) as to protect insulation against contact with
sharp edges, pinching, sharp bending and twisting, abrasion because of
vibration or contact with moving parts, exposure to chemicals, and contact
With high temperature parts. Wiring shall not be attached to panels or other
components that require removal during maintenance, except for actual
electrical connections to components. Multiple wires shall be banded
together at 5 inch intervals. Where a cable or wire is run between parts
that move relative to each other (as a result of vibration, adjustment,
inspection, or as a rotter of normal operation), sufficient slack shall be
left in the harness to allow repeated movement to take place without bending
or twisting to the point of damaging the wire or harness in any manner.
Wires shall not be spliced. All wires shall terminate in connectors or crimp
terminals at each end. Not more than two terminal shall be attached with
s
any one screw on screw type terminal boards. Terminals on electrical
components shall not have more than one wire attached. Terminals shall be
ring or fork crimp style with insulated sleeves. All wire terminations shall
be mechanically strong. All electrical wiring and components shall conform
to requirements 1, 9, 11, and 12 of MIL-STD-454.
3.5.2 .2.3 Electrical parts, comments, controls, and instruments. All
electrical parts, components, Controls, and " nstruments shall be identified
i
by a symbol and a number. The number shall be the same as used on the
schematic and wiring diagrams. This identification shall be permanently
marked in a visible location adjacent to the item on the mounting surface.
Each terminal board position shall be numbered and the number permanently
marked adjacent to the applicable terminal.
3.5.2.3 Enclosure. The control enclosure shall be equivalent to an
enclosure with a - type 4 rating in accordance with UL 50. All external
operating mechani sms, switches, and controls, when mounted on or through the
enclosure, shall be capable of passing the test or tests for the enclosure.
