Both inside and outside surfaces of the enclosure, including mans
for
fastening, shall be treated and finished as specified in 3.9. All
controls,
level adjustments, and switches shall be fully accessible from the
exterior
of the enclosure and access to the interior of the enclosure shall
not be
required except to perform maintenance.
3.5.2.4 Washer door switch.  An electrical door lock shall not be used. A
safety interlock shall be provided to instantaneously disconnect power to the
drive rotor when the door is opened during operation.
3.5.2.5 Moisture and fungus-resistant treatment. Unless otherwise
specified (see 6.2), electrical components shall be moisture and fungus-
resistant treated with materials conforming to and applied as required in
MIL-T-152.

3.5.4 Door glass.
The washer door glass shall be replaceable without the
use of adhesives.
3.6 Performance.
3.6.1 Signal devices.  A visual and audible signal shall activate when
supplies are injured , a batch is complete, or the manual timing has ended.
The signal devices shall activate when tested as specified in 4.4.5.
3.6.2 Chart or card preparation.  The formula card shall be capable of
carrying Formula III conforming to FM 10-280.  The card shall be easily cut
in the field without the use of a special punch or special tools when tested
as specified in 4.4.5.
3.6.3 Control enclosure. The control unit enclosure shall meet the
requirements of UL 50, type 4 when tested as specified in 4.4.5.
3.6.4 Washer door switch.  The washer door switch shall prevent operation
of the drive motor when tested as specified in 4.4.5.
3.6.5 Washer belt ward.  The belt guard on the washer drive assembly
shall prevent. contact with the belts or pulleys when tested as specified in
4.4.5.
3.6.6  Cylinder speed.  The washer cylinder shall not rotate at any time
during a complete wash cycle at speeds greater than 40 rpm or less than 30
rpm when tested as specified in 4.4.5.
3.6.7 Washing machine cycles.  The washing machine when operating through
complete manual and automatic cycles shall not fail and show no evidence of
