3.28 Tiedown attachments.  Each unit listed in 3.1 and each sectionalized
component shall be provided with integral attachments to permit tiedown to
the floor or deck of the transportation medium. Each attachment shall with-
stand, without damage to the plant, its proportion of the following static
loads: 8-G forward, 8-G rearward, 2-1/4-G upward, and 1-1/2-G sideward,
where G equals cargo weight of the unit or component, as applicable.  Attach-
ments shall be rounded and beveled to prevent cutting of the tiedown material.
Tiedown attachments may also be used as lifting attachments when such attach-
ments meet the requirements specified in 3.27.
3.29 Identification marking.  The mixing plant shall be identified in
accordance with MIL-STD-130.  Identification Plates shall conform to MIL-P-514,
type I, style 1, composition, of type I, grade A, ClaSS l material.  The
supplier shall furnish and mount the required plates with screws or bolts in
a conspicuous protected location.
3.30 Shipping data plates.  Shipping data plates shall conform MIL-P-514,
type III, composition C, of type X, grade A, ClaSS 1 material and in addition,
shall show the silhouette of each unit and sectionalized component in trans-
port position indicating the center of gravity and the location and capacity
of the lifting and the tiedown attachments.  The plates shall be attached by
screws, bolts, or rivets in a conspicuous protected location.
3.31 Instruction plates.  Each mixing plant shall be equipped with instruc-
tion plates or diagrams, including warnings and cautions, describing any
special or important procedures to be followed in assembling, operating, or
servicing the mixing plant.  The words "Warning" and "Caution" shall be red
matching color No. 31136 of FED. STD. No. 5950  Instruction plates shall con-

form to MIL-P-514, type III, composition C, of type X, grade A, class 1
material. Plates shall be attached by screws, bolts, or rivets in a con-
spicuous protected location.
3.32 Treatment and painting.  The portions of the mixing plant and its
components and parts normally painted shall be cleaned, treated, and painted
in accordance with MIL-T-704, type A.  Parts subject to temperatures of 450F.
or over shall be painted with paint conforming to MIL-F-14105. Unless other-
wise specified, the final coat shall match color No. X24087 of FED. STD. No. 595.
3.33 Vehicle making.  The marking of each trailer and semitrailer shall
be in accordance with MIL-STD-642. The gross vehicle weight of each trailer
and the weight of each sectionalized component shall be marked on the side

in such a manner as to be discernible.  The prescribed tire pressure shall
be marked near the tires. Lifting and tiedown attachments shall be marked
"LIFT HERE" or "TIEDOWN HERE" as  applicable.
