Type Q3 cable assemblies. T w o conductors of the PQ3 shall be terminated with
a pigtail consisting of:
( a ) Parts 531 and 530, as shown on Drawings S8101-1449531 and
S8101-1449532.
( b ) Nine feet, 0 inch of 2000 MCM, 61 by 19/.0415 inch tin or alloy
c o a t e d copper.
( c ) Part 528 as shown on Drawings S8101-1449531 and S8101-1449532.
The other two conductors of the PQ3 s e c t i o n shall be terminated with a pigtail
c o n s i s t i n g of:
( a ) Parts 531 and 530, as shown on Drawings S8101-1449531 and
S8101-1449532.
( b ) T e n f e e t , 0 inch of 2000 MCM, 61 by 19/.0415 inch tin or alloy
c o a t e d copper.
(c) Part 529 as shown on Drawings S8101-1449531 and S8101-1449532.
These ends of the PQ3 conductors shall be staggered 1 foot as shown on Drawing
S8101-1449530. T h e other ends of the four conductors shall be continuous with the
AQ3 cable. E a c h conductor of the other end of the AQ3 cable shall be terminated
w i t h a pigtail consisting of:
( a ) P a r t s 5 3 3 , 534, and 535m and shown on Drawing S8101-1449533.
( b ) E i g h t f e e t , 6 inches of 1000 MCM, 61 by 7/.0484 inch MHD copper
cable.
(c) Part 536 as shown on Drawing S8101-1449533.
Assembly. The two AQ conductors joined to the two shorter PQ conductors
shall form the short leg and the two AQ conductors joined to the two longer PQ
c o n d u c t o r s shall form the long leg. T h e short leg shall be connected directly to
a K4 electrode. T h e long leg shall be connected to an S cable which then connects
t o a K4 electrode. T h e short and-long legs shall be staggered 1 foot, 3 inches as
shown on the following drawings:

QUAD CABLE SAMPLE SECTIONS:
P Q cable sections. For PQ cable sections, one
pair of components shall be
s e p a r a t e d out, c u t to a length of 5 feet, terminated
in the same reamer as the
s t r e n g t h t e s t . One component
e x i s t i n g terminations, a n d s u b j e c t e d t o t h e t e n s i l e
o f the other pair shall be subjected to the flexing
test.
