4.6.4.10 Heading Set Rate - The heading set rate test shall be conducted
as follows:
a.
Set the controls on the controller and the electronic control
amplifier as follows:
Mode switch to SLAVED
Latitude control to 0
Hemisphere switch to N
Compensation switch to OFF
O
b.
Set the azimuth detector to O .
Depress and hold the heading set control knob on the
c.
controller until the indicated heading becomes synchronized with the
azimuth detector heading. Record the indicated heading.
Hold the heading set
control knob depressed but not deflected
d.
and rotate the displacement
gyroscope heading transmitter in an
at a rate of 30 per second. The
increasing heading direction
indicated heading shall increase
from the value recorded in step c by the

Discontinue rotation of the displacement gyroscope heading

transmitter and release the heading set control knob.

Turn the mode stitch on the controller to DC mode.
Depress the heading set control knob on the controller and

rotate it cw to contact the stop. The indicated heading shall increase
at 30 per second minimum.
h.
Measure resistance from connector 2J3-13 to 2J3-15 and 2J3-14
to 2J3-15 with the heading set control knob depressed and with it
released. Resistance shall be within the limits shown in table XXI.
