4.5.10 Pull test. The sample shall be fixtured and the
ribbon lead shall be pulled in the specified direction to meet the
specified minimum force. The sample shall not indicate failure of
the weld during the test. Any sample failing to comply with all
of the specified requirements shall be classed defective
(Destructive test).
4.5.11 Mine functioning.
4. 5.11.1 Anti-disturbance functioning. The sample selected
for anti-disturbance functioning shall be tested in the following
manner:
a. The sample to be tested shall be moved in any of the
specified directions, depending on ground orientation.
b.
All data shall be recorded.
c. If the mine fails to function it shall be tested for
breakwire activation in accordance with 4.5.12.1(a) through
4.5.12.2(e).
d. If the mine fails to function self-destruct it shall be
tested in accordance with 4.5.14 for the hazardous dud
requirements of 3.13.2 (Destructive test).
4.5.11.2 Breakwire functioning. The sample selected for
breakwire functioning shall be tested in the following manner:
a. The sample to be tested shall be restricted from any
movement.
b. Any tipline from either breakwire circuit shall be
selected for an activation attempt.
c. A digital readout force gage shall be attached to the
lead and an axial force shall then be applied to the device under
test.
d. The tripline, with gage attached, shall be pulled until
either the mine functions or the triplines fails to function
within the specified limits.
e. All data shall be recorded. The mine shall be classed
defective if it fails to function with the specified force
criteria for breakwire functioning.
In the event the mine fails to fire on the first breakwire
attempt, the following procedure shall be followed:
