4.6.2 High-pressure resistance test. Pistols shall be tested for
high-pressure resistance requirement (see, 3.2.13) by firing one high-
-pressure test cartridge in each pistol. After proof firing, pistols
shall be examined for cracks, defamations, and other evidence of
damage and cartridge cases shall be examined for bulges} splits) rings}
and other defects caused by defective barrels.
4.6.3 Functioning firing test. Pistols shall be tested for
functioning firing requirement.(see 3.2.14) by firing at least five rounds
from the magazine. During this test, the pistols shall be checked for
the functional requirements of the safety and the slide or bolt stop
(see 3.2.7 and 3.2.9).
4.6.4 Targeting test.  Pistols shall be tested for targeting re-
quirement (see 3.2.15) using an arm rest or a machine rest simulating
an arm rest and with the sights alined at 6 o'clock on the bull's-eye.
Prior to firing, the rear sight may be adjusted as necessary for
windage and elevation. After firing, the targets shall be checked to
determine whether the targeting requirements have been met, and the pistol
shall be checked to determine whether the rear sight is capable of being
zeroed and whether additional windage and elevation adjustment is avail-
able (see 3.2.15).
4.6.5 Dispenersion test. Pistols shall be tested for accuracy require-
ment (see 3.2.16) using an arm rest or a machine rest simulating an arm
rest.
4.6.6 Endurance test.  Pistols shall be fired for endurance re-
quirements (see 3.2.17) by firing 2,000 rounds of ammunition. Pistols
may be cleaned and oiled after each 500 rounds or at the end of a day's
firing. Upon completion of endurance test, pistols shall be subjected
to the trigger pull, targeting, and accuracy tests specified in 4.5.l,
4.5.4 and 4.6.5 respectively.
PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY
5.
5.1 Pistols shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with
MIL-P-l4313 for the applicable level of preservation, packaging, and
packing specified in procurement documents (see 6.2).
6. NOTES
6.1 Intended use. These weapons, of commercial design, are used
by the Military for the purpose of match shooting.
