MIL-R-23811(Wep)
4.4.4.11 Disconnect the dc leads connected in 4.4.4.10, and connect the 50,000'
ohm potentiometer (4.3.4) across the 3 volt, 400 cps, ac supply (4.3.6). Connect
either potentiometer end and the potentiometer arm across terminals H and J of P70.
Adjust the potentiometer arm to give an ac signal of 2.0 volts across terminals H and J
of P70. The channel 5 spot shall describe a line across the viewing screen 0.5 inch
long plus or minus 25 percent.
4.4.4.12 With connections made as given in 4.4.4.11 apply a 115 volt, 400 cps
signal (4.3.1) across terminals CC and DD of P70, with terminal CC being in phase
with terminal J. The line described by the channel 5 spot in 4.4.4.11 shall revert to
a spot of the original, no signal size plus or minus 0.3 inch. With the application of
the 115 volt ac signal, the channel 12 spot will describe a line across the viewing screen
approximately 0.5 inch long. This is proper and the circuit will be checked in
paragraphs 4.4.4.21 and 4.4.4.22.
4.4.4.13 With conditions as given in 4.4.4.12, reverse the polarity of the input
across terminals H and J without changing terminals CC and DD. The channel 5 spot
shall describe a line across the viewing screen 1.0 inch long plus or minus 25 percent.
4.4.4.14 Disconnect the ac inputs of 4.4.4.13 and 4.4.4.12 and connect the 24 volt
dc supply through the 22,000 ohm resistor to terminals K and BB of P70 (BB to be
positive). The channel 6 spot shall deflect 0.6 inch plus or minus 25 percent toward
the channel 1 spot.
4.4.4.15 Disconnect the dc leads connected in 4.4.4.14 and connect the 24 volt
dc supply directly across terminals L and BB of P70 (BB being positive). The channel
7 spot shall deflect 0.4 inch plus or minus 25 percent toward the channel 1 spot.
Remove the lead from terminal L and move it to terminal HH of P70, The channel 7
spot shall deflect 0.22 inch plus or minus 25 percent from its unreflected position
toward the channel 1 spot.
4.4.4.16 Disconnect the dc leads connected in 4.4.4.15 and connect the 10 volt,
400 cps, ac supply to terminals M and N of P70. The channel 8 spot shall describe
a line across the viewing screen which shall be capable of adjustment between 0.2
and 0.5 inch long by means of the potentiometer R74.
4.4.4.17 Disconnect the ac leads connected in 4.4.4.16 and connect the 24 volt
dc supply through the 1.2 megohm resistor to terminals P and R of P70 (R being
positive. The channel 9 spot shall deflect 1.1 inch plus or minus 25 percent toward
the channel 1 spot.
