4.5.3
Test and inspection equipment and facilities. - The manu-
facturer shall furnish and maintain all necessary test equipment, facilities
and personnel for performing all acceptance tests. The test equipment shall
be adequate in quantity, and when definite requirements are not specified
they shall be of sufficient accuracy and quality to permit performance of
the required acceptance tests.
4.5.4
Test procedure.
4.5.4.1
Pressure response. - The pressure response test shall be
accomplished in the following manner:
1. Connect external source of air or hydraulic pressure to
the stem of the hydrostatic switch.
2. Connect suitable indicating means across the electrical
leads of the hydrostatic switch.
3. Apply pressure of 6 psi maximum to the stem orifice of
the hydrostatic switch. -
4. Reduce pressure to 3 psi minimum.
Any hydrostatic switch which fails to indicate closure of the contacts at
6 psi maximum or which fails to indicate contacts open at 3 psi minimum
shall be regarded as defective.
4,5.4.2
Contact resistance. - The contact resistance test shall be
accomplished in the following manner:
1. Connect external source of air or hydraulic pressure to
the stem of the hydrostatic switch.
2. connect suitable meter across the electrical leads of
the hydrostatic switch.
3. Apply pressure of 6 psi maximum to the stem orifice of
the hydrostatic switch and measure resistance of circuit through electrical
leads.
4. Reduce pressure of 3 psi minimum.
Any hydrostatic switch which indicates a resistance of greater than 0.2
ohms at 6 psi maximum or which fails to open upon reduction of pressure
to 3 psi minimum shall be regarded as defective.
