Procedure I, Figure 516.2-1, shock parameters (a) and (c), Procedure II
limited to 76 centimeters (30 inches) and V, MIL-STD-810.
3.5.2.5 Sunshine. - Conditions specified in Method 505.1, Procedure I,
MIL-STD-8100. Temperature of the reflective targets-limited to 66C (150F).
3.5.2.6 Rain. - Conditions specified in Method 506.1, Procedure I,
MIL-STD-810. There shallbe no evidence of water inside the deflector
assembly.
3.6 Operational performance.
3.6.1 Mechanical and electrical interface. - The mount assembly shall
be as specified on Drawing F11747147. The conductivity between the mount
and the laser trainer mounting ring shall be such that the DC resistance shall
not exceed .01 OHM.
3.6.2 Power input control. - The position of the artillery trainer
selection switch shall indicate the "Foresight", "OFF" or "Firing"
function of the trainer.
3.6.2.1 Boresight mode. - When the M55 Trainer mode switch is in
the continuous position and the Artillery trainer selection switch is in
the boresight position, the M55 Trainer shall emit laser light continuously.
3.6.2.2 Firing mode. - When the M55 Trainer mode switch is in the
flash -position" and the artillery trainer selection switch is in the
firing position, activation of the lanyard switch shall cause the M55
Trainer to emit laser light. There shall be no further light emission
unless the lanyard switch is reactivated.
3.6.3 Deflection movement.
3.6.3.1 Excursion range. - Boresight movement shall provide a minimum
of 50 mils movement in each direction of both elevation and azimuth.
3.6.3.2 Beam accuracies:
3.6.3.2.1 Depression. - With the deflector level vial reading level
and the laser beam originally horizontal, rotation of the elevation knob
by 50 mils in depression shall cause the laser beam to depress 50 mils
within 2 roil.
3.6.3.2.2 Plumb travel. - With the deflector level vial reading
level and the laser beam originally horizontal, rotation of the elevation
knob by 50 mils in depression shall not cause the laser beam to move in
azimuth by more than 2 mils from the position established at zero elevation.
3.6.3.2.3 Azimuth. - With the deflector level vial reading level and
laser beam horizontal, rotation of the azimuth knob by 40 mils in azimuth,
in both directions, shall cause the laser beam to move correspondingly by
40 mils within 2 mils
