d.  The noise tester shall be capable of phase modulating
the source being tested with the following reference frequencies:

Each modulation frequency shall be within + 10 percent of each above
specified frequency.  Each signal shall be verifiable for frequency .
at the NOISE OUT port, using an external frequency counter.

The FREQ  TUNE control shall be capable of tuning over

the range of 9145 to 9250 MHz, as indicated by a peaking effect on
the noise indicator meter (Ml) with the OPER/TEST switch in the CAV
TUNE position, and the MODE switch in the INT or EXT TEST position.
b.  The BAL ADJ control shall be capable of matching the
output of the two internal detector diodes, as indicated by a black
cantor line reading on the meter (Ml), with the OPER/TEST switch in
the BAL position, and the MODE switch in the INT or EXT TEST
position.
c.  The PHASE ADJ control-shall be capable of adjusting the
FM demodulator to phase quadrature as Indicated by a black center
line reading on the meter (Ml), with the OPER/TEST switch in the
PHASE SHIFT position, and the MODE switch in the INT or EXT TEST
position

The noise tester shall have as a

self test function a means of verifying the gain integrity of each
band, as indicated by a blue band indication on meter Ml, with the
following control settings:  MODE switch set to INTL TEST, the
OPER/TEST switch in the BAND 1, BAND 2, or RAND 3 test positions,
the OSC TEST pushbutton depressed, the REP LEVEL control adjusted
for black center line, and the OSC TEST pushbutton then released.
