3.5.8 Integrated noise measurement.
The noise tester shall be capable of verifying the
integrated noise as derived from MIL-S-48431, q Solid State X-Band
Source" Figure 3. The noise power shall be integrated in three
bands as follows:
!
.
.
I
BANDl:. 600 to 2500 HZ
,
BAND 2: 2500 to 75000 Hz
BAND 3: 750 to 2000 K H z
q
Tolerances for frequency limits of each band are per the following
drawings:
1
11822711, 11822738
BAND 1:
BAND 2:
11822709. 11822713
BAND 3:
11822708, 11822706
b. The black center line of the noise Indicator meter shall
represent the total Integrated noise power for each band (as derived
from MIL-S-48431) as follows:
BAND 1:
-54.3 DB below the carrier
BAND 2:
-57.3 DB below the carrier
BAND 3:
-56.8 DB below the carrier
The tolerance for the Integrated noise power measurement for each
band shall be + 2 DB.
The noise tester AN/PSM-44 when positioned 12 inches
from speaker LS305 and when tested in accordance with 4.7.8.11 and
4.7.8.12 In its normal configuration, shall display a green area
meter reading when pseudo-random noise of 6.0 volts RMS at Band 1 is
injected into speaker LS305.
3.6 First article. When specified in the contract or purchase
order, a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection in
accordance with the technical provisions herein (see 4.3).
3.--7 Solderinq. All soldering shall be in accordance with the
general requirements of MIL-STD-2000 in addition to detail
requirement (task) F of paragraph 1.2 of MIL-STD-2000.
