than a 2-inch inlet. The strainer and pump shall be capable of passing solids up to 0.3750 inch in
diameter. The outlet size shall be not less than a nominal 2 inch size. The pump shall be capable
of running dry without damage. Not less than 25 feet of collapsible discharge hose shall be
supplied with the pump. The hydraulic hose specified in 3.13.1 shall be utilized to drive the
pump. Suitable stowage provisions in the body for the pump and hose shall be provided.
3.14 Basket hydraulic tool outlet. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), a hydraulic tool
outlet shall be furnished at the basket(s) by means of a dual hose and a hose reel or other
automatic hose stowing arrangement. The hose reel shall be mounted in an accessible location
on the turret or derrick. The hose shall automatically extend and retract with movement of
the derrick. The hose and reel shall be capable of withstanding 1,800 psi of line pressure and of
meeting the dielectric properties specified in 3.7.2. The hose shall have quick disconnect,
dripless type fittings at the basket outlet. A weatherproof cover shall be provided for the hose
reel. The following shall be included:
(a) Flow control valve
(b) Line check valve
(c) Roller hose guides.
3.14.1 Basket tool hose. When a basket hydraulic tool outlet is required, an 8-foot dual
hydraulic hose, for use in the basket, shall be furnished. The hose shall be rubber, nonconductive
type with a compatible quick-disconnect, dripless fitting on each end. The hose ends shall be
furnished with dust caps.
3.14.2 Basket hydraulic chain saw. When specified (see 6.2), a hydraulic chain saw shall
be furnished. The saw shall be equipped with quick-disconnect, dripless fittings. The saw shall
have a chipper type chain and shall be suitable for cutting trees up to 15 inches in diameter. A
suitable stowage area in the body shall be provided.
3.14.3 Basket hydraulic chain saw, pole mounted. When specified (see 6.2), a hydraulic
chain saw, pole mounted, shall be furnished. The chain saw shall be lightweight (approximately
10 pounds) and shall have a cutting capacity of 9 inches. The saw shall be equipped with quick
disconnect, dripless fittings. The pole shall be approximately 8 feet long and shall have a
fiberglass type of body to provide good insulation. A suitable stowage area in the body shall be
provided.
3.14.4 Basket hydraulic circular saw, pole mounted. When specified (see 6.2), a
hydraulic circular saw, pole mounted, shall be furnished. The saw shall be equipped with
quick-disconnect, dripless fittings. The saw shall have a capacity of not less than 3.25 inches
and shall operate at approximately 8,900 feet per minute. The pole shall be approximately
