randomly selected warheads from the referred lot. The retest
procedure shall be as specified In 4.4.1 with sixteen (16)
warheads at each temperature. If one or more defectives are
found during the non-arm test or the arm and firing test, the
lot shall be rejected.
4.3.4.2 Leak Test (see 3.5) Major defect Code No. 03011.-A
sample of twenty-four (24 loaded warheads from each lot
shall be subjected to the leak test as specified in 4.4.2 using
equipment In accordance with 4.3.5. Any warhead that leaks in
excess of the requirements shall be considered a defective. Two
or more defectives shall reject the lot. If one defective occurs
during test, the lot represented by the sample shall be placed
In a referred status and a retest shall be conducted. The
retest sample shall consist of forty-eight (48) randomly selected
warheads from the referred lot. The retest procedure shall be
as specified in 4.4 .2. If one or more defective are found
during the leak retest, the lot shall be rejected. The warheads
used for the centrifuge test shall be selected from warheads used
In the leak test.
4.3.5 Inspection Equipment .-Equipment Tabulation Number
ET-67D9700 (For 20 Grain Flechette) or ET-9259995 (For 60 Grain
Flechette) identifies the inspection equipment required to perform
the examination and tests prescribed In this section. The
contractor shall design inspection equipment in accordance with
the Instructions in paragraph 6.3.
4.3.5.1 Government Rights to Documentation.-Inspection
equipment drawings and lists provided and revised in accordance
with the requirements of the ET may be used by DOD activities for
design, procurement, manufacture, testing, evaluation, production
and receiving inspection, overhaul, shipping, storage, identifi-
cation of stock, ordering and storage of replacement parts,
inspection of items at overhaul, general maintenance of equipment,
construction, survey whenever Inspection equipment drawings are
needed.
4.4 Test Methods and Procedures.
4.4.1 Centrifuge Testing (see 4.3.4.1).-Each warhead
selected shall be conditioned to assure a uniform temperature
throughout its entire mass at the time of firing for at least two
(2) hours. Each firing shall occur within 5 minutes from the time
the rocket Is removed from the temperature conditioning cabinet.
A warhead left out of the conditioning cabinet over five minutes
prior to firing shall be placed at ambient temperature for not less
